Antiplanes vinosa
Antiplanes vinosa, the left-handed turrid, is a species of sea snail in the family Pseudomelatomidae. The shell is sinistral (left-handed) and reaches about 30 mm in length. This snail is found in the North Pacific, off the Aleutian Islands and northern Japan. The holotype is held at the Smithsonian Institution. It was first described by Dall in 1874. Synonyms include Antiplanes contraria, Antiplanes kamchatica, Pleurotoma contraria, Pleurotoma vinosa, and Pleurotoma (Antiplanes) vinosa.
