Rebelline
Rebelline was an Irish-bred bay mare who raced from 2000 to 2002 and later became a successful broodmare. Foaled on 29 April 1998, she was trained by Kevin Prendergast and ridden by Declan McDonogh. She came from a strong racing family, being sired by Robellino out of Fleeting Rainbow, and was bred by Peter Tellwright. She raced for Lady O'Reilly.
Her career began with a winning debut at Navan in October 2000, followed by a second-place finish in the Eyrefield Stakes at Leopardstown. As a three-year-old she won the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial and the Pretty Polly Stakes, and finished third in the Prix de l’Opéra. She ended 2001 with eight starts and two Group-level victories.
In 2002, Rebelline reached her peak, remaining unbeaten in three starts: the Gladness Stakes, the Mooresbridge Stakes and the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh. After this sequence, she was retired from racing. Throughout her career she battled arthritis, which meant her fitness relied on swimming rather than conventional gallops. After retirement, she became a broodmare at Castlemartin Stud and produced at least ten foals, with six winners to date.
