Angel of Sodom
Angel of Sodom is a thrash metal band from Helsinki, Finland. It formed in 2009 by guitarist Eero Tertsunen (also in Renascent) and vocalist Michael Majalahti. They released one studio album, Divine Retribution, in 2015, which was well received. Drums on that album were played by Rolf Pilve of Stratovarius. After the album, the band wanted to tour, but Pilve couldn't commit to live shows, so they hired drummer Joonas Heikkinen. Tertsunen had played with Heikkinen in Kremator, and Heikkinen later joined Renascent as the official drummer. On April 2, 2016, Angel of Sodom recorded a two-song EP called Heavens Ablaze. In 2016, Tertsunen announced he would move to Bloomington, Indiana, and the band would no longer be able to perform live. He did return for two final live shows in July 2016, with Jonne Kytölä on bass. The band is now inactive, while the members pursue other projects: Majalahti continues wrestling as StarBuck, Tertsunen joined the blackened death metal band Symphony of Heaven, and Heikkinen has played with Temple of Perdition.
