King's American Regiment
King's American Regiment, also known as the Associated Refugees, was a Loyalist unit in the American Revolutionary War. It was raised on Staten Island, New York, in December 1776 by Colonel Edmund Fanning. Led by commanders including Sir Henry Clinton, it began as Loyalist volunteers and provincial troops and fought in 1777 attacks on Fort Clinton and Fort Montgomery. In 1780–1781 it took part in the Southern Campaign, including the Siege of Charleston and raids on Newport and Richmond, as well as campaigns in Georgia and East Florida. On 7 March 1781 it was brought into the British Establishment and renamed the 4th American Regiment of Foot. It later joined the British Regular Army, possibly as the 110th Regiment of Foot, on 25 December 1782, and was disbanded in Canada in 1783.
