Amy Johnson Avenue
Amy Johnson Avenue is a major road in Darwin’s eastern suburbs, in the Northern Territory. It runs about 4 kilometers from Old McMillans Road in the north to Tiger Brennan Drive in the south, passing the Stuart Highway. The road serves the suburbs of Karama, Marrara, and Berrimah and works as a quick link to Darwin Airport from Palmerston and the southern suburbs. It’s named after Amy Johnson, the first woman to fly solo from London to Darwin in 1930. (There is also an Amy Johnson Avenue in Bridlington, England.)
