Lesser palatine foramina
The lesser palatine foramina are two small openings in each palatine bone, which forms part of the back part of the roof of the mouth. Through these holes travel the lesser palatine nerves and arteries from above to the soft palate. They are located behind the greater palatine foramen, in the pyramidal process of the palatine bone. These openings help supply the soft palate with nerves and blood.
