Alexander Burnett, the 12th Laird of Leys (died 5 July 1619), was a Scottish landowner. He was the lord of Crathes Castle and is credited with completing Crathes in 1596. Around 1600 he bought Muchalls Castle and began its rebuilding; his son Sir Thomas Burnett, 1st Baronet, finished it after Alexander’s death. He married Katherine Gordon of Lesmoir, and two caquetoire chairs and a bed at Crathes are carved with their initials and heraldry. Their daughter Helen married John, Laird of Allardice, on 3 September 1617.
