Macon State College was a public college in Macon, Georgia, and part of the University System of Georgia. It began in 1968 as Macon Junior College after voters approved funding. It was renamed Macon College in 1987 and became Macon State College in 1997 when it started offering bachelor’s degrees. The first bachelor’s degrees were awarded in 1999.

The main campus was in Macon, on College Station Drive along Eisenhower Parkway. There was also a Warner Robins campus and a Robins Resident Center on Robins Air Force Base. In 2010, the college began housing students by taking over a 300+ unit apartment complex called College Station.

In 2007, Macon State reorganized into five schools: Arts and Sciences, Education, Information Technology, Nursing & Health Sciences, and Business.

In January 2012, the University System of Georgia approved a merger with Middle Georgia College. The two colleges merged on January 8, 2013, to become Middle Georgia State College, which was renamed Middle Georgia State University on July 1, 2015. The Macon campus became the university’s main campus, the Warner Robins campus and Robins Center remained part of the university, and the former Middle Georgia College campuses in Cochran, Eastman, and Dublin joined as well.

Macon State College’s colors were blue and gold, and its mascot was the Blue Storm.
