Seelenluft
Seelenluft is the stage name of Beat Solèr, born July 8, 1971 in Zürich, Switzerland. He is a Swiss electronic music producer and DJ who has been making music since he was seven. His first album, The Rise and Fall of Silvercity Bob, came out in 2000 on Klein Records. The project uses samples from 1950s easy listening and centers around an imaginary trumpet player named Silvercity Bob.
In 2001 he released the Synchronschwimmer EP as a soundtrack for Acapulco 11, a synchronized swimming team. He recorded the album Out of the Woods in Los Angeles in 2002. The single Manila, featuring Michael Smith, a 12-year-old singer from Compton, was released in the UK by Back Yard Recordings and was praised by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. It has appeared on more than 60 compilations and reached number 45 on the ARIA charts in March 2004.
His third album The Way We Go was released in 2004 on Klein Records, preceded by the track I Can See Clearly Now. A remix by Tiga appeared on the maxi-single. Seelenluft has also contributed remixes for artists such as Tipsy, Almamy, and Mauracher, and he has written music for the Tonhalle Orchestra of Zürich and for film soundtracks.
In 2007 he started working with International DeeJay Gigolo Records, which led to the Birds And Plants And Rocks And Things LP, released on DJ Hell’s label in June 2008. A track from the album, Comme Dans Un Rêve, was used in Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2008/9 Haute Couture show.
