Alborz County

Alborz County is in Qazvin province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Alvand. The county was established in 2005 and has two districts: Central and Mohammadiyeh. In 2007, the village of Sharifabad became the city of Sharifiyeh, and in 2022 Mehregan also became a city.

Population has grown from 182,046 people in 47,046 households (2006) to 203,276 people in 59,174 households (2011), and then to 242,865 people in 75,922 households (2016). The time zone is Iran Standard Time (UTC+3:30).
