Aerospace Valley
Aerospace Valley is a group of aerospace companies and research centers in southwest France. It covers the Occitanie and Nouvelle-Aquitaine regions, mainly around Bordeaux and Toulouse. By 2009, more than 500 member companies, including Airbus, Air France Industries, and Dassault Aviation, employed about 120,000 people in aviation and space. About 8,500 researchers work within these companies and institutions. In 2009, the cluster aimed to create 40,000 to 45,000 new jobs by 2026. Its headquarters are in Toulouse, and the chair is Jean-Marc Thomas, who is also vice-chair of Airbus France. Aerospace Valley is part of the European Aviation Clusters Partnership and the Institut au service du spatial, de ses applications et technologies.
