Adel Abbas Tamano (born October 2, 1970) is a Filipino lawyer and educator. He is the Chief Administrative Officer, Chief of Human Resources, and Corporate Secretary of DITO Telecommunity. He gained prominence in 2007 as the spokesperson for the United Opposition (UNO) and was part of UNO’s senate slate in 2010.

Early life and education
Tamano was born in Manila, the eighth child of Mamintal Tamano and Hadja Putri Zorayda Abbas Tamano. He studied at Ateneo de Manila University, earning a BA in Economics and a Juris Doctor degree. He later earned a Master of Public Administration from the University of the Philippines (2003) and a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School (2005).

Career
Tamano began as a lawyer, working with several firms before starting his own law firm in 2004. He has also been a teacher and university administrator, serving as Dean of the College of Law at Liceo de Cagayan University (2011–2012) and as President of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (2007–2009). In 2011 he joined Coca-Cola Philippines as Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications. Since 2019, he has led DITO Telecommunity as Chief Administrative Officer, Chief of Human Resources, and Corporate Secretary, helping the company grow in a tough market.

Career highlights
Tamano led DITO’s bidding, establishment, and launch as the third telco in the Philippines. He has also held senior roles in government, including University President and General Counsel of the Senate Committee on Justice (2007–2008).

He has written a column for The Philippine Star and hosted a show on ANC called Tamano Perspective.

Personal life
Tamano is married to attorney Rowena Kapunan, and they have two sons.
