2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D
The 2021 Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was Brazil’s fourth-tier football competition. The season ran from 26 May to 13 November 2021, featuring 68 teams: 64 from state leagues and cups, plus four teams relegated from the 2020 Série C (Boa Esporte, Imperatriz, São Bento and Treze).
A notable incident occurred on 28 August 2021 when a storm caused the grandstand roof to partially collapse during the Imperatriz vs 4 de Julho match in Group A2. The game finished in the 76th minute with a 0-0 score.
Aparecidense won the title, defeating Campinense 2–1 on aggregate in the finals, claiming their first Série D championship. Four teams earned promotion to the 2022 Campeonato Brasileiro Série C: Aparecidense, ABC, Atlético Cearense and Campinense.
