2017–18 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team
The 2017–18 Vanderbilt Commodores men's basketball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I season. Led by second-year head coach Bryce Drew, they played home games at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Commodores finished 12–20 overall, 6–12 in SEC play, and ended up 13th in the conference. They were knocked out in the first round of the SEC tournament by Georgia.
Assistant coaches were Roger Powell Jr., Jake Diebler, and Casey Shaw.
The previous season, 2016–17, Vanderbilt went 19–16 overall and 10–8 in the SEC, tied for fifth. They defeated Texas A&M and Florida in the SEC tournament before losing to Arkansas in the semifinals and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as a #9 seed in the Midwest Region, where they lost in the first round to Northwestern.
