Shibamata Station
Shibamata Station (KS50) is a train station in Shibamata, Katsushika, Tokyo, Japan. It is operated by Keisei Electric Railway and lies on the Keisei Kanamachi Line. The station has two side platforms serving two tracks at ground level, with ramps to the platforms for accessibility.
The station opened on November 3, 1912. In 2010, station numbering was introduced, and Shibamata was assigned the code KS50. On the Kanamachi Line, the preceding station is Keisei Takasago and the following station is Kanamachi, which is the line’s end.
In front of the station stands a bronze statue of Tora-san, played by Kiyoshi Atsumi in the Otoko wa Tsurai yo films. The statue was erected in 1999 after Atsumi’s death and has become a popular spot for fans, since much of the series was filmed in Shibamata.
