2016 African Handball Champions League

The 38th edition of Africa’s top club handball tournament was held October 21–30, 2016 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, at the Palais de Sports. Ten teams from one confederation competed. The event was organized by the African Handball Confederation with the International Handball Federation overseeing.

Al Ahly of Egypt won the title (their 5th), with Espérance de Tunis as runners-up, Zamalek in third place, and Widad Smara in fourth. By winning, Al Ahly qualified for the 2017 IHF Super Globe.

A total of 39 matches were played and 2,152 goals were scored (about 55.18 per match). Host country: Burkina Faso; venue: one venue in one city.
