The 1892 Orange Athletic Club football team played in the American Football Union (AFU), which at the time included three amateur teams: the Orange Athletic Club (from East Orange, New Jersey), the New York Athletic Club (Manhattan), and the Crescent Athletic Club (Brooklyn). The OAC played home games at the Orange Oval in East Orange.

They finished with a 4–4–1 record, and were 1–1 against AFU opponents. They faced some of the era’s best teams, losing to Yale 58–0 and Princeton 23–0. On December 17, they played the Varuna Boat Club of Bay Ridge at Madison Square Garden, one of the country’s best-known sports venues.
