Nora Slatkin
Nora Slatkin, born May 5, 1955, is a former American government official and banker. She served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition from 1993 to 1995, and as Executive Director of the Central Intelligence Agency from 1995 to 1997. She was born in Glen Cove, New York, and grew up in Massapequa, where she graduated from Plainedge High School in 1973. She earned a B.A. in International Relations from Lehigh University in 1977 and an M.S. in Foreign Policy from Georgetown University in 1979.
Slatkin began her career at the Congressional Budget Office as a Principal Defense Analyst in 1979, then joined the House Armed Services Committee staff in 1986. After leaving government in 1997, she joined Citigroup, taking on roles in Business Process Improvement, Corporate Services, Government Relations, and as Chief Marketing Officer for the Consumer Lending Group (2001–2008), among other positions in Reengineering and Corporate Treasury.
She was married to Deral Eugene Willis (1938–2000); they had a son, two daughters and five granddaughters. Willis was a retired U.S. Army colonel.
