Summary of the 2015–16 WHL season

The 2015–16 Western Hockey League season was the league’s 50th. The regular season ran from September 24, 2015, to March 22, 2016. Twenty-two teams competed in the league.

Regular season highlights:
- Victoria Royals finished with the best record, winning the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy. They were the first Victoria-based team to win the trophy since the 1980–81 Victoria Cougars.
- Top scorer: Adam Brooks of the Regina Pats.
- Regular-season MVP: Dryden Hunt of the Moose Jaw Warriors.

Playoffs and beyond:
- The playoffs lasted from March 24 to May 13, 2016.
- The Brandon Wheat Kings won the Ed Chynoweth Cup, their third league title and first since 1995–96, earning a berth in the 2016 Memorial Cup.

- The 2016 Memorial Cup was hosted by the Red Deer Rebels at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer, Alberta, from May 19 to 29, 2016. Red Deer served as host for the tournament.
