2013 A Lyga
The 2013 A Lyga, also known as SMSCredit.lt A Lyga for sponsorship, was the 24th season of Lithuania’s top football league. The season ran from March 9 to November 10, 2013. FK Ekranas were the defending champions. The league reduced the number of teams from 10 in 2012 to 9 in 2013, so each team played 32 matches (four against every other team: two at home and two away).
VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius won the title and qualified for the Champions League second qualifying round. Tauras were relegated. For European competition, FK Atlantas and FK Ekranas qualified for the Europa League first qualifying round.
There were 144 matches and 443 goals (about 3.08 per game). The top scorer was Nerijus Valskis of FK Sūduva with 27 goals. The biggest home win was VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius beating FK Dainava 7-0, while the biggest away win was VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius defeating FK Tauras 7-0 on the road. The highest scoring game was FK Ekranas 6-2 FK Kruoja. Total attendance was 99,140, averaging 688 per match.
