Léo Delibes (1836–1891) was a French composer who wrote a small number of operatic works. His operas are Le roi l'a dit (The King Said So), first performed in 1870, and Lakmé, first performed in 1883. Delibes did not write any operettas. He is best known today for his ballets, such as Coppélia and Sylvia.
