2003 Rugby World Cup – repechage qualification
Two repechage places were available to qualify for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. The United States and Tonga earned those spots. Russia had initially qualified for Europe 5 in the repechage but were expelled for using ineligible South African players, and Spain replaced them. Because of the investigation and Russia’s exclusion, the first round was changed to a single match at a neutral venue. Spain advanced to Round 2. The United States qualified to Pool B as Repechage 1 and Tonga qualified to Pool D as Repechage 2.
