The 1994 North Hertfordshire District Council election took place on 5 May 1994, with 16 of the 50 seats up for election (a third of the council). Labour had the most votes overall but did not gain any seats. The Conservatives lost 2 seats, leaving them with 25 seats (half of the council). The Liberal Democrats gained 2 seats, bringing them to 5. Ratepayers and Independents each stayed on 1 seat. Because no party won a majority, the council remained under no overall control, though the Conservatives continued to run the administration thanks to the chairman’s casting vote. Geoff Woods of the Conservatives remained the leader before and after the election.
