The 1973 Gwyn Staley 400 was the seventh race of the 1973 NASCAR Winston Cup Series. It happened on April 8, 1973, at North Wilkesboro Speedway in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. The track is a 0.625-mile oval, and the race covered 400 laps (250 miles). It was cold (59 F) with a 14 mph wind, and about 16,000 fans were in attendance. Bobby Allison won the pole position. Richard Petty, driving the No. 43 for Petty Enterprises, led the most laps and won the race.
