Allen Parish Courthouse is the main government building for Allen Parish in Oberlin, Louisiana. Built in 1912, it is a tall two-story brick building set on an English basement. The design blends Classical Revival with Classical Baroque influences. On the second floor, four sets of double Ionic columns frame three arch windows that light the courtroom inside. The courthouse stands at the end of an avenue and towers over the town’s one-story buildings, making it a prominent feature in Oberlin. It has been the parish seat since it was built. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 (reference number 81000287).
