The 1947 Syracuse Orangemen football team represented Syracuse University as an independent during the 1947 college football season. In Reaves Baysinger’s first year as head coach, the team went 3–6, and were outscored 167 to 77. Laurence Ellis was the team captain. They played home games at Archbold Stadium in Syracuse, New York. In the final Litkenhous Ratings, Syracuse was ranked 123rd out of 500 college teams.
