Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts
The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts is a theater venue in downtown Mountain View, California. It’s owned by the City of Mountain View and opened in 1991. The center has three stages: the Main Theater (600 seats), the SecondStage (200 seats), and the ParkStage (300 seats), for a total of about 1,100 seats. It hosts theatre, dance, and music events and is home to TheatreWorks, Peninsula Youth Theatre, and Upstage Theater. A 2013 renovation updated the seating. Beginning in 2017, an expansion project added two dressing rooms, a green room for the Second Stages, and improvements to the Park Stage. In 2018, Frost/Nixon premiered at the center. City employees sometimes refer to it as MVCPA. As of August 2017, the executive director was Scott Whisler.
