The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The village covers about 2.05 square kilometers, sits at 157 meters above sea level, and had 76 residents in 2002. The name is pronounced [ˈtʃaːdɾaʒɛ], and older sources also call it Čadreže.
