Dieudonné Madrapile Tanzi
Dieudonné Madrapile Tanzi (born 18 August 1958) is a Congolese Catholic bishop who serves as Bishop of Isiro-Niangara in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and, since 23 September 2024, as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Isangi.
He was born in Niangara, Haut-Uélé, and studied philosophy and theology at the seminary. He earned a Doctorate in missiology from the Pontifical Urban University in Rome (2013). He was ordained a priest on 25 August 1985 and held several leadership roles: formator at Rungu Minor Seminary (1985–1986); teacher and spiritual animator at Saint Augustine Interdiocesan Major Seminary in Kisangani (1986–1996); Vicar General of Isiro-Niangara (1996–2001); Diocesan Administrator (2001–2003); Rector of the Blessed Anuarite Shrine (2003–2006); chaplain in Rome (2012–2016); and professor of pastoral theology at the Pontifical Urban University (2012–2016).
On 2 April 2016 Pope Francis appointed him bishop of Isangi, and he was consecrated and installed on 10 July 2016 in Isangi by Archbishop Marcel Utembi Tapa. He briefly served as Apostolic Administrator of Isiro-Niangara from 12 July 2024 to 23 September 2024. On 23 September 2024 he was named bishop of Isiro-Niangara and also appointed Apostolic Administrator of Isangi, the latter position he continues to hold.
