Öfnerspitze

Öfnerspitze is a rocky peak in the Allgäu Alps, located on the border between Bavaria (Germany) and Tyrol (Austria). It rises about 2,576 meters high (2,575 m on some Austrian maps) and lies southeast of Krottenspitze, connected by a flat saddle. The mountain is part of the Hornbach chain and is made of Main Dolomite.

There are no marked trails to the summit. The easiest route starts off the path to Muttlerkopf and is partly signposted with cairns, but some parts are hard to find. The climb requires sure-footedness and navigating through rough, trackless terrain, so Öfnerspitze is climbed relatively rarely. The nearby Großer Krottenkopf is higher and offers a more majestic view. The peak has a prominence of 133 meters and lies about 0.6 km from Großer Krottenkopf.
