Colonel Óscar Alberto Mendoza Azurdia (4 June 1917 – 9 January 1995) was a Guatemalan military officer who briefly headed the government and later served as vice president.

Born in Guatemala City, he rose through the military and, for a short period, led Guatemala as head of a military government from 24 to 26 October 1957, succeeding Luis Gonzáles and preceding Guillermo Flores Avendaño.

Many years later, he was elected Vice President, serving from 12 September 1980 to 23 March 1982 under President Fernando Romeo Lucas García. He took office after the resignation of Francisco Villagrán Kramer and remained until a coup led by Efraín Ríos Montt ousted the government. Mendoza Azurdia died in Guatemala City in 1995 at age 77.
