Élan Luz Rivera
Élan Luz Rivera is an American singer and actress known for Latin hip hop. She is a member of the Latin hip-hop trio The D.E.Y. Rivera was born and raised in New York City. As a child, she acted in the movie Life with Mikey and appeared on the TV series Ghostwriter. She attended LaGuardia High School for Music and Art and Performing Arts.
Her first Broadway roles were Cookie in The Capeman (1998) at the Marquis Theatre and Susie Rogers in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (2001) at the Minskoff Theatre.
In 2005, she connected with rapper Yeyo through Divine. While making music with The D.E.Y., she sang background vocals for Ashley Tisdale’s 2007 hit He Said She Said and co-wrote Fuego for The Cheetah Girls with producer J.R. Rotem and songwriter Evan Bogart.
Rivera later contributed to LL Cool J’s 2008 album Exit 13 under the name Elan of The Dey.
