Ángel García Yáñez
Ángel García Yáñez (born 14 December 1967 in Zacualpan, Morelos) is a Mexican politician who has been part of the New Alliance Party and the PRI (and earlier with PVEM). He was municipal president of Zacualpan de Amilpas from 2009 to 2012. In 2012 he was elected to the Morelos state Congress for the 17th district, including Zacualpan, becoming the town’s first popularly elected deputy and the first PVEM deputy from Morelos. He later served in the federal Chamber of Deputies for Morelos’ 5th district from 2015 to 2018, and was PVEM’s parliamentary coordinator before switching to Nueva Alianza in early 2015.
From 2018 to 2024 he served as a senator for Morelos (the 64th and 65th legislatures). In 2024 he ran for re-election as the leading candidate of the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition (PRI/PAN/PRD) and was confirmed as one of Morelos’ three senators on June 10.
