Axel Bredberg (24 February 1884 – 5 February 1960) was a Swedish Army officer who reached the rank of lieutenant general. He led the Swedish Army Service Troops as Inspector from 1933 to 1942, then served as Chief of the Defence Staff from 1942 to 1944, and later commanded the V Military District from 1945 to 1947.

Born in Jönköping, he was the son of Anders Petter Johansson-Bredberg and Emma Svensson, and the brother of lieutenant colonel Ernst Bredberg. He also taught tactics at the Royal Swedish Army Staff College from 1918 to 1925.

Bredberg held many administrative and advisory roles, helped reorganize defense services, and chaired several officers’ associations and commissions. He married Sigrid Sundling in 1908, and they had a son, Bertil Bredberg. He died in Stockholm in 1960 and was buried in Borås.
