Zdenka Žebre
Zdenka Žebre (15 November 1920 – 2011) was a Slovenian writer known for books about Africa. She was born in Ljubljana and studied law, but World War II interrupted her studies. In 1963 she moved with her husband to Africa and lived in Ethiopia and Ghana for more than ten years. Africa inspired her writing, including the novel Okomfu Anoči about the Ashanti priest and statesman Okomfo Anokye. She also wrote three children's books, including Jernejček v daljni deželi. In 2003 she published Se spominjaš Afrike (Do You Remember Africa?), an autobiographical novel about her life in Africa. Zdenka Žebre died in 2011, at about 90 or 91 years old.
