Robyn Carr is an American writer best known for the Virgin River series. She has written more than fifty novels, and some have appeared on The New York Times Best Seller list, including The Hero. She also helps adapt her books into TV shows and is an executive producer for Virgin River and Sullivan's Crossing.

Carr studied nursing in college. She married her high school sweetheart, who later served as a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. Because they moved a lot, she couldn’t work as a nurse. A difficult pregnancy kept her off her feet, so she started reading romance novels to pass the time and soon decided to write her own.

Since then she has published many romance novels—historical and contemporary—plus a suspense novel, a non-fiction book, short stories, and articles, and she has written several screenplays that have not yet sold. Carr also hosts monthly "Carr Chats" at the Paseo Verde Library in Henderson, Nevada, where she interviews other authors. In 2023, the Sullivan's Crossing TV series premiered. Carr has a son and a daughter.
