Zürcher Bach Chor

Zürcher Bach Chor is a mixed choir from Zürich, Switzerland. It mainly sings the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The group was founded in 1947 and started by performing only Bach’s works. In 1963, the choir began to include other composers and 20th‑century pieces. Highlights include Stravinsky’s Messe für Chor und Doppelbläserquintett (1972), Hindemith’s Flieder-Requiem (1977 and 2003), Penderecki’s Te Deum (1986), Janáček’s Glagolitische Messe (1988), Delius’s Late Swallows (1997), Lili Boulanger’s Psalm 130 Du fond de l’abîme (1997), and Britten’s War Requiem (2002).
