Alu is a system of volcanic fissures in Ethiopia. The fissures have produced silicic lava flows, while fissures to the south have generated large, young basalt lava flows that extend north to Lake Bakili. The area shows strong fumarolic activity along parallel faults, with some faults uplifting the ground by about 100 meters. The highest point is 429 meters (1,407 feet). Coordinates: 13°49′30″N 40°33′00″E. The rocks are from the Holocene age, and the feature is a fissure-vent type volcano. The last eruption is unknown.
