The Yugoslavia Davis Cup team played from 1927 to 2003, representing several states over the years: the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (1927–1939), the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1946–1992), and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (1995–2003). It was organized by the Yugoslav Tennis Association. After the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, new national teams were formed for the successor countries. In 1952, Dragutin Mitić and Milan Branović defected from the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia.
