Stubbæk
Stubbæk is a small town in Aabenraa Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. It has about 1,200 residents (1,197 in 2025) and covers 0.9 square kilometers, giving a population density of about 1,300 people per square kilometer.
The town is located about 20 km north of Kruså, 17 km northwest of Gråsten, and 6 km south of Aabenraa.
There used to be a train station about 1 kilometer northeast of Stubbæk on the Aabenraa–Gråsten railway line. The line operated from 1899 to 1926. The railway’s high dam still exists, but it is hard to access.
In front of the community center there is a memorial hill with 11 stones that tell the history of Southern Jutland. One stone was added in 1937 to commemorate the 1920 Schleswig plebiscites.
