Yucatan small-eared shrew
Yucatan small-eared shrew (Cryptotis mayensis) is a small mammal in the shrew family. It lives in the lowlands of Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. It is found in dry scrubland and tropical dry forest at elevations below 100 meters. It is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, but deforestation threatens its habitat.
