Yakov Fuchs (1880–1921) was a Yiddish theater actor born in Lemburg, Galitsia (now Lviv, Ukraine). He joined a theater chorus at 17, sang in Lemburg and Romania, became a soloist, and later starred in the operetta Jacob and Esau. His voice worsened because of lung disease, so he worked mainly as a character actor, performing both comedies and serious dramas. He died of lung disease in Lemburg at about 40 or 41. He was married to Ruzha Fuchs, a popular Yiddish theater star, and their son Leo Fuchs also became a famous actor.
