XXP was a German documentary TV channel based in Berlin. It launched on 7 May 2001, created by Spiegel TV and dctp, and showed documentaries, magazine programs, reports, discussions, and interviews, plus a daily news program. The programs mostly came from Spiegel TV, dctp, as well as the BBC and Süddeutsche Zeitung. In January 2006, Discovery Communications bought XXP. The channel closed on 31 August 2006 and was replaced in September 2006 by DMAX. It was available on satellite (Astra 19.2°E) and some cable networks.
