XHEML-FM
XHEML-FM is a radio station on 98.3 FM in Apatzingán, Michoacán, Mexico. It is branded La Ranchera de Apatzingán and plays Ranchera music. The station is owned by Cadena RASA (XEML, S.A.) and has sister stations XHCJ-FM and XHAPM-FM/XEAPM-AM.
Its history starts with XEML-AM on 770 kHz, with a concession granted on November 29, 1961. It was originally owned by Esperanza Murguía de Navarro and broadcast with 250 watts as a daytime-only station. The station was sold in 1971, and its power increased over the years (1 kW in the 1980s; 5 kW day and 1 kW night in the 1990s). It received approval to migrate to FM in 2011. Today XHEML-FM broadcasts with 25 kW on 98.3 FM.
