Worship is Michael W. Smith’s sixteenth album and his first in the contemporary worship genre. It was recorded live on June 1, 2001, at Carpenter’s Home Church in Lakeland, Florida, and released on September 11, 2001 by Reunion Records. The album runs 67 minutes and 41 seconds and was produced by Michael W. Smith and Tom Laune. It sits between Freedom (2000) and Worship Again (2002) in Smith’s discography. A DualDisc reissue was released in 2005. Smith performed "Above All" at President George W. Bush’s 2001 inaugural prayer service. In 2002, he released Worship Again and a DVD featuring selections from both albums. Choir contributed additional vocals on "Purified" and the studio version of "Above All."
