World Baseball Classic Championship Trophy
World Baseball Classic Championship Trophy
The trophy is awarded to the winner of the World Baseball Classic. It is presented by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the MLB Players Association (through World Baseball Classic Inc.). Tiffany & Co. created the trophy.
From 2006 to 2023, five different trophies were used and three countries shared them. The trophy is 25 inches tall (about 63.5 cm) and weighs 30 pounds (about 13.6 kg). It is made of sterling silver with 24-karat gold details.
Design: A central baseball rests on four boards atop a pedestal. The pedestal has four tiers, representing the four rounds of the tournament (first round, second round, semi-finals, final). Four sloping boards extend upward from the pedestal, along with feather-shaped boards facing the upper center, representing the four pools in the first round. The central baseball supported by four boards symbolizes the earth (global).
History: Japan has won the most titles with three, most recently in 2023.
