School Master (1973 film)
School Master is a 1973 Indian Tamil-language film directed and produced by B. R. Panthulu. It stars Gemini Ganesan, Sowcar Janaki, Srikanth, and Rajasree. The movie is a remake of Panthulu’s 1958 Kannada film of the same name. It follows an elderly schoolmaster who earnestly tries to change the lives of his village’s students. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan with lyrics by Kannadasan, and the film was produced by Padmini Pictures. Critics noted that the story felt outdated; Kanthan of Kalki called it not very fresh.
