Woo Seung-yeon

Woo Seung-yeon was a South Korean model and actress. She was born on May 24, 1983, and died in late April 2009 at age 25 in Seoul. She started as a fashion model and had small roles in the films Herb (2007) and Private Eye (2009). She worked with Yedang Entertainment in 2008 and joined Oracle Entertainment in February 2009. Woo was being treated for depression after many failed auditions and was on leave from Chung-Ang University, where she studied French. She died by suicide at her home in Jamsil-dong; she had texted her sister saying she was sorry and left a diary note expressing love for her family. Police said depression and fear about the future contributed to her death.
