Gamal Abdel Nasser University of Conakry, known in French as L'Université Gamal Abdel Nasser de Conakry (UGANC), is Guinea’s largest university. It is in the Dixinn district of Conakry.

The university began in 1962 as the Institut Polytechnique de Conakry, with help from the Soviet Union, making it Guinea’s first higher education institution. In 1970 it was renamed Institut Polytechnique Gamal Abdel Nasser de Conakry (IPGAN) after Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser. In 1989 it received its current name.

In 1965 the École supérieure d'administration joined the institute. The university has a campus-wide computer network with fiber optic backbones and many labs, helped by USAID. Online courses are available, and the entrance exam was abolished in 2002.

Today the university has several faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry; the Faculty of Sciences; and the Polytechnic Institute, which covers engineering and related fields. It also includes a Computing Centre and an environmental research center, among other units.

In 2015 Guinea and the Institut Pasteur signed an agreement to create the Institut Pasteur of Guinea as an independent department of the university. The National Herbarium of Guinea is also housed on campus.
