Sir William Schooling (16 December 1860 – 18 February 1936) was a British expert in insurance and statistics. He received the CBE in 1918 and was knighted as a KBE in 1920 for his work with the War Savings Committee. He edited Bourne's Directory, a guide to British insurance companies, and wrote several books on insurance and on the history of the Hudson's Bay Company. With Mark Barr, he helped pioneer the study of the golden ratio in mathematics.
